Ministry these last few weeks has been incredible! From school, to home visits, to internal ministry I have seen God work. Not only in my life but in the lives of those around me, strangers and friends alike.

Last week was a holiday to celebrate the end of Ramadan, so all the schools had a week off. We did a lot of internal ministry; worshiping, bible studies, intercession and ATL (Ask The Lord). God really used this week to pour into us. And for me, showed me how to be present in this last month on the field. Surrendering my thoughts, worries, and plan about the next season and be content in seeing God’s goodness here in the now. Although evangelizing has been hard, as it is illegal to share the gospel in Malaysia, we have been able to become friends with random people and pray that our actions simply show Jesus’ love for them even when our words can’t.

Home visits have been one of my absolute favourite parts about Malaysia ministry. A couple weeks ago my squad mates Kayli, Ella and I went to a home of an older couple, George and Martha. They were Hindu and had all the statues of their gods all around the house, but recently they had started going to the church that we are partnering with. George, who had only started believing the Hindu faith since getting married and wasn’t very devoted to that religion, started becoming curious about Jesus back in December. They both started going to church on and off for a few months now, however Martha stopped going because it was too cold in the building and her asthma would flare up. So we came and got to talk to them about the love of Jesus and share the gospel with them. And even though the translation was hard and we couldn’t really understand, and even though we hadn’t planned in advance and even though we were awkwardly sitting way across the room from them, the Holy Spirit was working!! I have never seen with my own eyes the Holy Spirit shift people’s hearts as much as He did that night! As we shared the gospel both of them literally moved to the edge of their seats, as if something deep within their hearts was longing for the Word we had to give them. And when we had finished sharing the gospel, George was weeping. He just kept talking and talking to our translator who struggled to keep up but all we could gather was how much he wanted Jesus in his life. When we asked Martha if she would also like to accept Jesus, she said “me too?”. She then began to also cry as we explained that this gift was for everyone, that she is one of God’s beloved children and Jesus loves her more than His own life. We then gathered in a circle and walked them through the prayer of salvation. They simply could not stop crying, that’s the power of the Holy Spirit. And it wasn’t by our words or how we said it, it was simply His love and His Spirit that filled that home. God is working!! And this is only one story of many, we have seen 6 salvations in the last 4 weeks! Praise God! And we continue to pray that God will grow this fruit to the fullest all for His Name sake.

Thank you for praying and please continue to intercede for Malaysia and for our team, as well as the rest of our squad in Indonesia! Please be praying for health over our team, opportunities to meet people and share the gospel safely, and for even more people to come to know Jesus!!!
